A School of Truth and Freedom

by | Feb 13, 2024 | Marriage, Marriage Prep, Prayer

Marriage is the only school where you get the certificate before you start. In addition, it’s also a school where you will never graduate. You never get a break or a free period. Above all, no one is allowed to drop out. Indeed, you will have to have perfect attendance and you get no sick leave or holidays.

It’s a school founded by God:

1. On the foundation of love.
2. The walls are made out of trust.
3. The door out of acceptance.
4. The windows made out of understanding.
5. The furniture made out of blessings.
6. The roof made out of faith.

Likewise, it is important to be reminded that you are just a student, not the principal. Truly, God is the only Principal.
Even in times of storms, don’t be unwise and run outside. In fact, this school is the safest place to be. Never go to sleep before completing your assignments for the day. Never forget the C-word: Communicate. Communicate with your classmate and with the Principal. If you find out something about your classmate (spouse) that you do not appreciate, remember that your classmate is also a student, not a graduate. God is not finished with him/her yet. So take it as a challenge and work on it together.

A Prayer for Married Couples this Valentine’s Day:

Dear Lord, I ask that You, in Your infinite wisdom and grace, would help couples to communicate effectively and honestly with one another. Lord, I know that communication is a vital component of any healthy and thriving relationship.

I pray that You would grant these couples the ability to express their thoughts, feelings, and needs openly and honestly. May You soften their hearts and remove any barriers that hinder effective communication, such as pride, fear, or past hurts. Please fill their hearts with love, compassion, and understanding towards one another, enabling them to truly listen and empathize with their partner’s perspective.

I pray that Your Holy Spirit would guide them in their words and actions, teaching them how to communicate with love and respect even in moments of disagreement or conflict. Heavenly Father, I trust in Your power to heal and restore relationships, and I believe that as these couples seek You and surrender their communication into Your hands, You will work miracles in their lives.

In the mighty Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
