Friday feedback 13 –

Carolyn and TJ: I appreciated that the course started with the story of Adam and Eve and helped me form a foundation for understanding the relationship between man, woman, and God.

TJ: I loved it, very educational and made us really think as individuals and couple. I truly feel that this class has already strengthened our relationship and will have an ever-lasting effect on the way we live our lives going forward.
I truly feel that the class revived my faith. Especially when it came to praying, attending church with more frequency and the thoughts of going for reconciliation.
I would like for us to attend church more frequently, I would also like us to get a little bit more involved in extra circular activities for example volunteer to work Saint Anne’s Festival or volunteer to help children in need.

Carolyn: I really learned a lot and have a new appreciation for the Sacrament of Marriage. TJ and I always knew that it was important for us to get married in Church but after taking the course we have a new appreciation for what that really means and how we will not be joined as one but also with God.
It made me think about things I never really had considered before such as natural family planning. Our instructors were great at reviewing our answers and providing additional Church teachings, as well as highlighting personal stories that sometimes made concepts easier to relate to. As the course progressed, I really felt comfortable sharing more about myself and sharing personal stories.
I appreciated that the course started with the story of Adam and Eve and helped me form a foundation for understanding the relationship between man, woman, and God. I always knew the story of Adam and Eve but never really put it in the understanding of marriage until this course.
It really made me realize how God is part of our relationship as a married couple. It also made me want to make an effort at attending Church on a weekly basis, pray together as a couple — even if its a short prayer for meals, and volunteer with the Church. I also would like to volunteer at the Church garden.

Together: We feel that we have become better listeners and communicators, more open and willing to share. We’ve also started to have conversations about NFP attending church, praying together more frequently. I’m very happy that we decided to take the online class.
This truly has been an amazing journey and we as a couple enjoyed the learning process. All the information and suggestion you provide has been super helpful and have changed us as a couple.

I was born and raised in Burgundy, France. Good wine and good food reign, but the the region is also deeply rooted in Christianity. The number of beautiful roman churches and chapels is amazing. I am number four of five kids: three girls and two boys. I was raised in a practicing Catholic family. I married Christian in 1977 in Burgundy in an 11th century church. We have five beautiful daughters. Two of them still live in France and three are in the US with us. Our two eldest daughters are married, one in Denver, one in France, and each have five children so far. Our third daughter is currently expecting her first baby. After fifteen years in the Catholic Community of the Beatitudes, we dedicated ourselves to the ministry towards the engaged. We have been the Directors of the Office of Marriage and Family Life for the Diocese of Colorado Springs since 2005. We became American citizens in 2010 and now have dual citizenship: French and American. I love to take pictures and to scrapbook, I love drawing and crafts (salt-dough is my best!), hiking and gardening. I am the computer geek for our organization.
